One Block Wonder by Lynette Bingham #14

The design possibilities are endless! It is a wonderful use of just ONE large or unusual print, and part of the fun is searching for just the right fabric!  The hexagons go together very easily with a technique that does not use “Y” seams.  Easy and simply fabulous!

Class Cost: $20.00
Pattern Fee: Book is $24, also required is a 60 degree ruler (paid to instructor)

Size: Sample is 44" x 83".  Long and skinny, but I have a place for it!  The instructions in the book suggest doing a layout beginning with 10 rows by 10 rows, which makes the finished quilt 60" x 72" including an inner border 1-3/4" wide and on outer border of 2-3/4" wide.   You get to decide how large you want your quilt, and the possibilities are many.

Fabric Requirements:

To make a lap-size, twin or full sized quilt, 4-1/2 yards is enough.  Add another half yard to have a piece of the original fabric as a reference.  This could be put on the back of the quilt, or get another yard to use as an outer border.  To make a queen size or larger, double the amounts to 9 yards, plus extra for an outer border, or to have a piece of the original fabric.
