Description - 

This is a hands on class where we will hand bind a small project together. In class we will learn: -how to calculate how much binding is needed -how to prepare and cut binding strips -how to sew binding strips together in one continuous length -how to attach binding to the project, which includes mitered corners and joining the ends for a seamless finish -how to finish the binding by hand.


Supplies/Fabric requirements

What to bring to class: -a small project to bind, such as a small wall hanging/table topper/pillow, Enough fabric to bind your small project.


Needed Items - Sewing machine with basic supplies (new needle, thread, pins seam ripper etc.), rotary cutter with mat (18”x24”) and ruler (6”x24”), iron, starch, pressing mat, hand sewing needles (a variety of sizes), thread for hand sewing (40 or 50 weight will do), and thimble.
