Size: Carries an 18 x 24" cutting mat and rulers
Description:
I started going to retreats about 15 years ago, and talk about being unorganized – how do you keep your rulers, mats, and patterns where you can find them and they are safe? – rulers are expensive and they do break. I checked out lots of ruler bags and didn’t find one that had what I wanted. So. . . I created my own. This tote has a place for everything and everything is safe in its place – you can also customize it to meet your needs.
Supplies/Fabric requirements:
4 yards 1” nylon webbing
4 yards 1⁄2” – 3⁄4” ribbon OR 12” Velcro 1” wide
Two 10” or longer zippers
Inside pockets and bindings:
Assorted 1⁄2 yard cuts and fat-quarters
Outside of Tote:
One 52”x21” double-sided pre-quilted fabric
Inside Main Pockets:
One 40”x21” double-sided pre-quilted fabric
Outside Pockets: Use pre-quilted OR un-quilted fabric for these pockets
One 9”x 9” double-sided pre-quilted fabric
One 24”x 9” double-sided pre-quilted fabric
One 34”x 9” double-sided pre-quilted fabric
OR
Cut one each from coordinating un-quilted fabric – Smaller piece in each set will be the outside of pocket, larger piece in each set will be the inside and mock binding of pocket.
9”x 9”and 10”x 9”
24”x 9”and 25”x 9”
34”x 9” and 35”x 9”
You can purchase double-sided pre-quilted fabric, or quilt your own.
I prefer quilting my own using a foam stabilizer – this makes a tote more stable and offers more protection for rulers. My favorite foam stabilizer is ByAnnie's Soft and Stable or Bosal In-R-Form.
Inside pockets are customized by you, to carry your specific rulers.
