Registration is now open. Here's how to register for the retreat:

  1. Log in to the site. If you are a CCQG member or attended our retreat last year, you have an account already with your email as user name. Use the "Forgot Password" button on the login page if you can't remember the password you gave yourself or are a new member and haven't yet logged in. You will get a link to change your password. If you are not a member and are new to our retreat, you will be entering your email during the payment screen and that will create your account. You do not need to be a CCQG member to join us at the retreat.
  2. **Register for the retreat registration (listed first below) first so you don't forget.** This is required.
  3. When you get to the payment screen, press the "invoice me" option, especially if you are going to add additional classes/activities. This prevents our program from hitting your credit card individual times for each event.
  4. When you have added the last class/activity for your session, press the button to "View Invoices". From there you will be able to review your classes and pay for them online all at once. **Any unpaid invoices after 30 days from registration will be cancelled and your space freed up for another attendee. Please pay as soon as possible so you can ensure your space and we can keep an accurate count.**
  5. All finished! Log out of your session. You can return at any time following the same log in procedure if you want to add more classes/activities. See you at the retreat!

    Description - This is a fun and simple technique to use as a border or body of your quilt. It is a good project for jelly rolls or a stash buster. I will be teaching at least three different braids including: half hexagon braid, friendship, and centered diamond braids, plus patterns for a quilt and table runner.

    To learn technique: At least three different colors or prints of fabric cut into 2 1/2" wide strips at least 10" long. You will need at least 30 pieces. Jelly rolls are great for this.

    For table runner: 30: 2 1/2" x 10

    1: 9" square of the contrasting color

    Description - This is such a fun quilt to make. It's a great way to use all of those scraps and left over strips from Jelly rolls . I made a twin without buying any fabric, was able to use what I had. There are 5 different blocks, with the class being full day we should be able to get some of each block done and put together a section of you quilt.

    It will depend on what size that you are doing. I will let you know how much depending on what size you want to do.


    Needed Items - Basic sewing kit. There is a lot of ironing, so if you can bring in your own small iron and ironing mat, it will be very helpful. I also used a lot of Best Press, or what ever type of starch you like.

    Description - 

    This is a hands on class where we will hand bind a small project together. In class we will learn: -how to calculate how much binding is needed -how to prepare and cut binding strips -how to sew binding strips together in one continuous length -how to attach binding to the project, which includes mitered corners and joining the ends for a seamless finish -how to finish the binding by hand.


    Supplies/Fabric requirements - 

    What to bring to class: -a small project to bind, such as a small wall hanging/table topper/pillow, Enough fabric to bind your small project.


    Needed Items - Sewing machine with basic supplies (new needle, thread, pins seam ripper etc.), rotary cutter with mat (18”x24”) and ruler (6”x24”), iron, starch, pressing mat, hand sewing needles (a variety of sizes), thread for hand sewing (40 or 50 weight will do), and thimble.

    Description - This gorgeous quilt uses needlepoint as the inspiration. The design is made up of just squares in a single size, so there's lots of easy cutting. The piecing is straightforward. This quilt goes together so quick and easy since we use fusible grids. So, don't let the size or the many squares worry you. You'll get more accomplished than you think.

    Description - Fidget Spinner is a geometric design made up of 20-inch blocks so you can plan the size of your quilt depending on how many blocks you make. This is a great technique class because each section is made up of a traditional snowball block, a half square triangle, two stitch and flip corner blocks and various sizes of squares and rectangles. You will learn the most modern, precise ways to make and combine each of these blocks. Many different fabric choices make beautiful combinations.


    Supplies/Fabric requirements - 

    Focus Fabric (swirls): 16 FQs for 80" square quilt, 4 FQs for 40"

    Background: 5 yards for 80" quilt or 3/8 yard per block

    Binding: 3/4 yard, Backing: 5-1/2 yard

    You will need to bring 3 Fat Quarters per game/round. We will play 6-8 rounds depending on how long each round takes, you do not need to play all rounds.

    How to Play the LCR Dice Game

    All players sit in a circular formation. The middle of the circle is the center “pot” where Fat Quarters will be placed during the game.

    Before the game begins, each player starts with 3 Fat Quarters.

    The starting player takes their turn, then players will continue taking turns in clockwise order until the game ends.

    On your turn, roll the dice. How many dice you roll depends on how many Fat Quarters you have.

    If you have 3 or more Fat Quarters, roll all 3 dice.

    If you have 2 Fat Quarters, roll 2 dice.

    If you have 1 Fat Quarters, roll 1 die.

    If you have no Fat Quarters, don’t roll any dice.

    After the dice are rolled, you must take actions based on what is showing on the dice.

    if you roll an L you must give one of your Fat Quarters to the player on your left.

    If you roll a C you must put one of your Fat Quarters in the pot in the center.

    If you roll a R you must give one of your Fat Quarters to the player on your right.

    If you roll a dot nothing happens.
